Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation (RG&E) is a wholly owned subsidiary of RGS Energy Group. Since the inception of RG&E's Environmental Affairs group, over three decades ago, RG&E has made a commitment to care about the affects of its operations on the environment. In 1994, RG&E undertook a new initiative, the formation of its Environmental Stewardship program. Environmental Stewardship is a program that demonstrates RG&E's commitment to protect and enhance the environment we live and work in. It is a means to give something back to the environment and the community we serve. These are low cost measures and programs that increase customer loyalty, improve regulatory relations and also improve our environment. RG&E is proud to be a leader in environmental stewardship programs in Western New York State during the last decade, and looks forward to continuing to lead in this endeavor in the new millennium.
