These baby opossums are from a litter of 11 that was retrieved from the dead mother when she had been killed by a car.

The tiny opossums were found crawling on top of the dead mother and brought to me as a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. They had to be individually nursed with a syringe at first using a specially prepared formula to mimick the mother's milk. The opossums have thrived and most have been released. These were among the smallest and we are holding on to them long enough to be sure they can thrive in the wild.
